Happy 4th of July

This 4th of July has been so fun! The whole weekend has been so busy and full of nonstop excitment!! My fourth started off by waking up at 4 am to get ready for work. I helped the YMCA get ready for their annual "Run in the Parks" event. My friends and I were in charge of a water table. It was really fun to hand out water to the runners...very funny times!

From there the family festivities began.


Michael and I met my family along with the Jones' and Ryan's adorable girlfriend at the park. We played 5 intense games of volleyball...both teams were evenly matched and we all played really well.


After playing in the hot muggy sun for 2 hours we decided to go back to the Rodriguez house to swim. We enjoyed the nice cool water while competing in a few games of toothpick, diving contests and swimming relays.

Once we were all water logged we had our annual ping pong tournament. My first round was against Michael...I knew I didn't stand a chancebut he insisted that the Michel family doesn't quit....so we played our game and he generously gave me 6 points.

Once again, the Ping Pong tourney ended up with Curt and Steven in the final two...who won the cash prize??? Steven!! I can't even keep track of how many years he's taken it!
While everyone was playing I decided to take a bike ride on my sisters beach cruiser...I haven't ridden a bike in FOREVER...I was a little shaky at first but eventually got the hang of it. I'll admit it was one of my highlights of my day!
Next on our agenda was the BBQ...my mom, sister and Anne Jones made some seriously yummy food. We all sat around while we ate making jokes and having a great time. My sister made these cute cupcakes in the shape of a star...with berries on top...they were so cute and yummy! Thanks Jenn.
After that full day I was exhausted...I literally went home and fell asleep before fire works...pathetic I know!

Saturday's after party was spent at the beach. It was a beautiful day and full of fun. The water was so nice and the waves were huge. Jennifer, Kim, my mom, Allyce and I got mangled in the water. It was scary but fun! Then we all went out to dinner at the Spectrum. We enjoyed shopping, the pet shop, carousel and Golden Spoon. What a great weekend it's been!! Hope everyone else had a good time as well =)
