One Sick Baby!
Our dear little Chloe has had one rough week. Saturday my sister and I noticed she had a pink eye but just figured we'd keep an eye on it (in case it got goopy and turned into pink eye). Saturday night Chloe was up crying a lot and she felt really warm but since it's been so hot outside I didn't think twice about it...well Sunday morning she was on FIRE and I started to get worried. She wouldn't eat and had a temperature of 102. When I put her down for a nap she was having a hard time sleeping...after an hour she let out a scary cry and had a really nasty cough (choking/gag). I ran in there to make sure she didn't throw up (luckily she didn't). I figured I needed to take her to the doctor cause her fever was NOT going away and she just kept getting warmer and warmer. I also noticed a slight rash on her chest (I figured it was from such a high fever). As I put her in the car she let out another scary cough but this time she threw up (luckily I caught it all in my hand and happened to have a blanket right there with me to catch the rest). Once we got to Kids Doc they told me she had an ear infection and she threw up because of mucus draining down her throat. I left feeling uneasy and not really convinced that this was the only problem. She's had plenty of ear infections before, PLENTY and this was nothing like it. But alas I gave her the antibiotics the Dr. prescribed and what do you know? We were up all night again. When she woke up her rash was a little worse (on her face and back now) and by the time we got to the airport to pick up Michael it was full blown SCARY. She also was REFUSING to eat (soo not like my chubby baby). I called Dr. Carruth (the only Dr. anyone should ever go to). He looked at her and within minutes he had a full diagnosis. It wasn't an ear infection (in fact she didn't even have one)!!! It was a virus related to roseola...called like abnovirus (sp?) Anyways...it's been a rough couple of days. She hasn't eaten or drunken hardly ANYTHING since Saturday, her rash has gotten worse and worse and her sleep has been nonexistent. Last night she didn't fall asleep AT ALL..up all night feeling uneasy and uncomfortable. Finally at 4am I turned off my monitor and let her be...I did all I could do (bottle, food, rock, sing, read, meds). BUT today even though her rash is 100 times worse than yesterday her fever subsided and she took 2 naps. We can't go anywhere and are really bored but I really feel like she is on the mend. Here are some pics of her rash...the pictures DO NOT do it justice (it's much worse in person...MUCH).
Her eyes are swollen cause she is tired but the rash is under eyes, on eyelids, ears, cheeks, lips and this just in'd today (possibly her mouth which would result in her not eating or drinking and the cause of her red throat...Dr. Carruth gave her some pain meds to help subside the hurt in her throat so she could eat and tonight she ate 1/2 a hot dog and 1/2 a roll and 5 green beans...that's HUGE).

She's such a trooper and honestly as happy as she can be. She is tired but keeps herself and everyone around us LAUGHING! She's soo funny!
