South Carolina 2010

We went to South Carolina for a whole week to visit Michael's family. I was so nervous to fly with Chloe because she is soo independent, active and she doesn't snuggle for naps...EVER. I knew she wouldn't sleep and I was hoping that with enough sugar, toys and books we could keep her preoccupied....Yeah...OK! On our way there we were delayed in our first flight (in the plane) for 45 mins. When we arrived in Charlotte, NC we had 15 mins to get to our connecting flight before they took off...we sprinted a mile to our gate (literally) and after begging and begging they reopened the doors to let us in. Well come to find out that there was a huge lightening storm and we had to wait in the plane for another hour. DEATH! After that hour we finally took off and landed a short 25 mins later. When we pulled into Charleston we ended up having to wait for another hour because there were no gates open...DEATH again. Finally we were able to get off and pick up our luggage...OH wait...remember how I said we had 15 mins to sprint to our connecting flight...our baggage didn't get that memo so we had NONE! Yay for traveling. Haha...At least Chloe was pretty manageable and only had minor screaming fits.

*Already entertaining the Chloe monster in LAX airport. *We are doing good...every one's still happy!
*Trying to keep her interested*Getting tired and a little impatient... **yep...I'm done...Are we there yet?
FRIDAY...after our luggage came we decided to hit the outlets with Michael's sister, Anna. Little did we know that a MONSOON would hit and we would be trapped inside a store for 30+ minutes. The lightening was SOO loud it cracked and thundered as soon as it hit...SOO LOUD! It was pretty scary. We were meeting Michael's parents for dinner so we had to get to the car...we ran...but after 1 second (NO EXAGGERATION) we were soaked and we looked like we had just jumped in the pool with our clothes on. It was really fun. The ground was flooding so fast that stores had to shut their doors and use a broom to brush the water back under the door...we were literally shin deep in water. (Lucky for us most of the outlet mall had a outdoor roof and some of the ground wasn't flooded...but unlucky for us...it didn't matter...cause it was quickly being flooded...see the water rising behind us)!
(Notice the water running off the canopy and how ridiculously deep the water already is).Chloe was in an almost covered stroller and a rain jacket and she still got soaked! At least she was the most dry.
This next pic is scary but I am who I am and I love who I am so I don't even care if it's embarrassing...too bad I'm wearing black...cause you can't even tell how completely soaked I am...SOAKED!
Saturday we went to a Children's museum. They can play in the water room full of water tables and activities, a craft room, in a castle to roam, a infant toy area, grocery store where they could shop and buy fake food or be the check out person at the register, and a pirate ship. It was so fun!
Chloe LOVED the water table....
Michael, Chloe and Jonathan in the castle jail!
I had more pics but my computer is being lame...maybe I'll add them later...but probably not!
Sunday we went for a small ride on Mary Lois's scooter motorcycle...I was scared at first but eventually warmed up to it! Monday we went to a water park with Anna...we had so much fun going down the baby water slide with Chloe, playing in the wave pool and relaxing in the lazy river.
Tuesday we spent some time at the beach. The water is seriously so nice and warm...but really sandy and murky...I just finished a week of Discovery Channel's shark week and was FREAKING out about bull sharks and others that like warm murky water so I stayed very shallow...VERY! Oh and I was also freaking out about the occasional Alligator that might accidentally find it's way to the salt water beach front.

*Me and my baby girl! Yes...our coloring looks so different but believe it or not she does look like some of my baby pictures.

OK...NICE TRY...

*There is no denying that she does look just like her daddy...I mean...JUST like him.
*The Beach was soo sandy...you couldn't get rid of the sand...it just stuck to you...even when you went to go "wash off" you wash off in VERY sandy water...so you end up more sandy. Only Fresh water can get you clean...showers was a MUST right after. Chloe didn't mind one bit...she rolled, crawled and ate it.
Wednesday was our last day and we just enjoyed some relaxation...getting ready and gearing up for our trip home. And for those of you who travel long distances with babies know that the way home is worse than the way there...due to lack of naps, sleep, consistancy in schedule and what not...and guess what...Chloe cried the whole way home...except the 1.5 hour miracle nap she took! Yes, we were "Those" people and Yes we got some dirty looks and lots of "advice" for our next trip...but eh...she's a baby and she's gonna cry...get over it.
*Side note...I'm proud I only broke down once...on the way home.

That's crazy that all those things happened to you, but it sounds like you had a fun trip anyway. One more week and then I get to go back to Disneyland! I'd love to see you there!
