For the whole month of July the Rodriguez family has been doing a lot of celebrating. The first weekend it was the fourth of July, the second weekend was both Aaron's farewell and Chris and Abbey's engagement weekend, this past weekend was Aaron's official last weekend before leaving for Brazil. Although it seems we have been celebrating a lot of "lasts" for Aaron this past weekend we celebrated for his "last night" as a regular bachelor. We all got together and did a lot of swimming! It would be his "last" time in the pool for two years. We tried to head out to the beach for a bonfire/bbq but there were thousands of other people with the same idea...so due to the crowd we just stayed home and roasted our dogs and mallows over the BBQ! It was so fun and Yummy!
As you can tell the s'mores were both yummy and messy! Just the way we like 'em.
Sunday we had our "last" Sunday dinner with Aaron. Later that night Aaron was set apart as a missionary. Words can't describe the spirit that was felt and the love that filled the room. It was such a beautiful moment and we are all so proud of Aaron. He is going to be one amazing missionary with a lot of great experiences!!
Monday night we all gathered together for one "last" night with Aaron before he headed off! It was so fun just hanging out with him and being around him. He's so relaxed and confident in his decision...it only brings us comfort as we get ready to say good-bye to our baby brother for a couple of years.
