Our thanksgiving was celebrated with a week full of fun! My brothers came home from Utah and I was so happy to see them! Chris brought his girlfriend to visit and it was so fun getting to know her! We did so many fun activities including the spectrum, eating, movies, sports and LOTS of shopping! I love this time of year when family can get together and share celebrate with wonderful friends and family and enjoy so many fun traditions! On thanksgiving day we woke up to pouring rain! Some of the family was a little worried about our "Rodriguez Turkey Trot"...but Michael and I didn't let it get us down! We showed up at Soka ready for our 3.2 mile run...Rain or shine! (Our biggest motivation was probably the fact that we were going to be indulging in thousands of calories). The weather actually ended up perfect! It stopped raining just as we started off and didn't really return until later in the day!
After our run we went to Curt and Kim's for a bagel and doughnut breakfast! Yum-O! Then we all headed to our annual Turkey Bowl football game! Our teams were their usual...married vs. non married or in other words Old vs. Young! I have to take a moment and brag because I got the first touch down of the game! Now this may not seem like a huge deal but I don't get the ball very often...the word butterfingers springs to mind...but Curt graciously put faith in me and lobbed the ball right into my hands! Hurray for not being a non-factor and a stumblebum this year! I really tried my best to prove that I can be a good athlete! Haha! Well the "marrieds" were up by 2 by half time and then slowly deteriorated near the end and finally ended up having a tied game! We like those games...everyone walks away happy!
Finally we went home and took much needed showers and got all cleaned up for our Thanksgiving feast! This is my favorite part of the day...not because of the food but because we all sit down as a family and share what we are thankful for! I really do think this year was one of our more emotional rounds! I am so thankful for Michael and EVERYTHING he does for our family! I love him so much and so grateful to have such a loyal and hard working husband! I am also thankful for my family! I love them and feel so lucky to be near them! I am also very thankful for my parents and for their unconditional love and support...I still can't believe they are letting us move in with them. I am really grateful for the chance that we have to help each other!
As the evening ended we all sat around and enjoyed each others company! I sure do have the best family EVER!
The next day I had the chance to visit with my 2 bestest friends! My long time best friend Jacki brought over her new baby! He is soo cute! I love him so bad! I can't believe she is a mom...if feels like yesterday we were obssessing over boys and most of all boy bands! Haha..I love that girl! I am so glad to see her so happy! She deserves it all!
Then later that day my other best friend, Jennie, came into town for a visit! It was so fun to see her! We had so much fun together! Sorry no pics but we were so busy having fun and shopping! She bought her first pair of designer jeans and so many cute shirts! I love this girl too and was so sad to see her go! She promises to come visit this summer so we can attempt this whole surfing thing! haha...good luck to us!
I think that's all for now! When you don't update frequently you get stuck with super long posts! I promise to do better next time!!
