Michael and I finally decided what we want to be for Halloween! I know that we are old and shouldn't dress up for Halloween but it's such a fun holiday and I love to get dressed up and attend costume parties!! As we sorted through idea after idea we finally agreed to be Alice and the Mad Hatter! My mom and I went to JoAnn's Saturday morning to look for a pattern! Lucky for us that all Simplicity patterns were a dollar each (they are normally $16 each) but unlucky for us the only Alice costume pattern they had was McCalls so my mom offered to go halves with me...but lucky for us they only charged us 10 dollars instead of 16 so she just paid for the whole thing and will keep the pattern for future use at her house! THANKS MOM!!
We picked out all the fabric and necessities for the costume. If any of you know me you know that I don't really know how to sew! My mom is guiding me along with this costume and is teaching me everything I need to know!! I am so excited to take on this project and CREATE something for myself! I think I am going to like sewing and can't wait for more opportunities and projects! Now all I have to do is convince Michael that buying a sewing machine will be beneficial!!
To get more inspiration on our costumes Michael and I headed to Disneyland! We found a hat for the Mad Hatter...too bad his head is too big and the hat is too small! Ugh! I guess this means my mom will also be helping me make a custom made hat for Michael!! For the rest of the costume we feel like we will find the missing pieces at Salvation Army...or at least we hope to!!
Although Michael and I love Disneyland and we were LOVING the cold weather it was just WAY too crowded so after only one ride and a few fun pics we headed to 711 for our favorite treat...SLURPEES...and then to red box for a movie! What a fun night!

Your costumes are gonna be so cute! I can't wait to see how they turn out.
Great idea! Now all you need is a baby to dress up like the chesire cat! :)
You are two of my favorite people. I love you both and you look BEAUTIFUL in your pictures. What I wouldn't give to look as young and fresh as you! I love the costume idea too!
