I know I am far away from the fire in Orange County but while driving home from my mom's house on Sunday I had a very clear view of the flames in Irvine...so clear that I really thought it would hit us if the wind continued as it did. The flames were so big it gave me the illusion that the fire was really close. In reality it would have to burn through a lot to get to us. Monday morning brought smokey skys and ash blowing over my car and apartment. The smoke was so thick it smelt like smoke in my apartment...with all the doors and windows sealed shut. I headed to my mom's house. To my suprise that 15 minute drive made all the difference in air quality. Here are some pictures of the Santiago Canyon fire...I still can't believe it! I am also very grateful that we are safe from the flames.

The BIG JoAnns in Tustin...Kim and my mom's favorite place.
Irvine Spectrum (apartments right next to). I live close to the Irvine spectrum so this is the yummy air I have been inhaling for the past few days.
