Last night for Family Home Evening, Michael and I carved our pumpkins. It was a lot of fun. I never realized how messy carving pumpkins really is. Growing up my mom always cleaned out the inside of the pumpkins before we started carving. This year I had to do my own. Despite the icky feeling of goo and slime between my fingers it was rather enjoyable.
Once my pumpkin was all cleaned out I just started to carve. I didn't put too much thought into it. I just let my imagination take over. Michael on the other hand was fully prepared with a design and stencil ready. We were not allowed to show each other our pumpkin until we were totally finished. In the end mine struggled and his of course looked better. Still...I like to think that mine was completely original.
Both of our pumpkins...at least you can see the face on my pumpkin without it needing to be lit up!
Here is Michael's funny Frankenstein...the full effect!

See...mine is not THAT bad!!
