What a Day!

Wednesday night I started to feel a little sick again...chills, headache, sore throat and cough. I didn't think much of it. Yesterday I got up feeling close to the same as I did the day before...but didn't feel sick enough to not go to work so I went to help Ms. Shriley at preschool. When I was done I was so cold that I went to my mom's house and took a steaming hot bath(I had work in an hour and didn't want to go all the way home). By 12:00 I was feeling horrible. My headache turned into a migrane, my cough was getting worse, I obviously had a fever, and NO appetite (this was an obvious sign of being sick)the thought of food made me nauseas...but I went to work anyways. Around 1:45 I got so dizzy and light headed that I fell backwords into a chair (luckily the chair was there). I then left work and thought I would never make it home. I needed to put my head down...it was pounding so hard I seriously thought it weighed 100 pounds. When I got home I still couldn't get warm and I was still very light headed...not only that my my right lower side of my stomach started to hurt. I waited about an hour and a half to see if it would go away but it didn't. I then became paranoid that it could be appendicitis. I looked it up on Web MD (which was an enormous effort to get up and do). Turns out I had almost all the symptoms. I called my sister, Jennifer, and asked her what she knew. She adviced me to go to the doctor and find out for sure. I waited another hour but then started to worry. I had Michael come home to take me. I was to dizzy to even walk around. We headed to the doctors at 5:30. We quickly got in to see him. Turns out I had a high fever of 102.3 and all the typical appendicitis symptoms. He made me take a urine test to rule out UTI. I was good in that area...he then called the hospital to order a CT test. Michael and I went to South Coast Medical in Laguna Beach and entered the Radiology department around 7. Finally around 7:30 I was sent into an ugly scary room with a CT scanner. The doctor had me lay on this tiny little bed and set me all up with an IV (He was not very good..it was the most painful IV ever). It took about 10 full minutes of radiology and then he informed us to go home and wait for the doctors call. Since I wasn't in a ton of pain we decided to go home and get comfortable...naturally I took a bath...just in case we did have to go back for surgery. When I got out Michael and I said a short prayer together and then we both felt it important for him to give me a blessing. Although he only said about 2 sentences before the phone rang (we knew it was the doctor) and he quickly had to end it, it was a very powerful and beautiful belssing. The doctor then told me the good news...I didn't have appendicitis...I had the virus that is often mistaken for appendicitis (sorry I can't remember the name and I can't find it anywhere on the web). We were so relieved and I was so happy. Today I am feeling soo much better. I am still really weak (probably cause I haven't eaten very much) and have a headache but my side isn't hurting as much and I can actually walk around!! My stomach is growling..which means I am hungry and even though it still makes me nauseous...I am glad I fell hungry! Many of you may know that I am one big medical mystery...I end up with sickness and viruses that nobody knows about. It's times like these when I feel that my Father in Heaven is looking out for me the most. He comforts me and helps me through times of uncertainty and worry. I am so grateful for a loving husband who puts up with it all and stand by me through it all...holding my hand while I freak out about the IV...getting me drinks, medicine and making me as comfortable as possible. He also is so faithful in the power of the priesthood and knows that with the blessings he has given me they are the words and thoughts of of Heavenly father. I am so thankful to have him! All in all I am so glad that everything turned out ok!!

Oh no Michelle! So sorry you had to go through that! You and Berkley should hang out. I feel bad that you are both always sick. I can still remember Jenn talking about a time when The Dion had to head up to Rexburg b/c you were really sick in the hospital. I am so glad you are feeling better though!

At first when I started reading that you were sick and nauseas I thought that you might be pregnant. LOL! Sorry...maybe it was just wishful thinking. I'm so glad you're starting to feel better. Love you Michelley!
